What age should a child first go to the dentist?
Children should start seeing the dentist by their first birthday or when their first tooth erupts. We offer complimentary baby well visits for children under 2 years old to help lay the foundation for good oral health.
When should you start brushing your baby's teeth?
You can start brushing even before the teeth come in! Use a soft, silicone infant toothbrush or a damp washcloth to gently clean your baby’s gums morning and night. This is good for their oral health and also gets babies used to the feeling of toothbrushing. Once teeth start to erupt, you can switch to a soft-bristled brush and use a dab of fluoride toothpaste the size of a grain of rice.
