Your Child’s First Visit

 Starting with our philosophy of treating every child like we treat our own children, we try to make your child’s first visit to our office as pleasant and fun as possible.  We have a large colorful waiting room with toys and interactive activities.  For a routine checkup and cleaning, your child will be greeted by a specially trained Dental Hygienist who will bring him/her into our child friendly treatment area and let your child pick a movie to watch.

 All our procedures are explained to the child in non-threatening terms that they can understand.  We use tooth counters, tooth washers, and tooth ticklers here, not explorers and drills!  Your child will have their teeth tickled (prophylaxis), have vitamins (fluoride), and maybe have some pictures taken (X rays).  Dr. Ginsberg, aka. Dr. Jeff, will then count (examine) your child’s teeth and discuss with you at that time what he finds.  Your child will then get to pick a new toothbrush, a timer for brushing, a toy, and a sticker to take home! 

 Unless your child is in pain, most restorative treatments will be set up for a future appointment and you will be given a comprehensive treatment plan explaining what your child needs.  You can make an appointment for the treatment at that time as well as schedule your 6 month checkup.
